Dolcini Ranch Company Profile
General information
HISTORY
The Dolcini Family started ranching in California in 1870. Red Hill Ranch, one of many ranches purchased by the Dolcinis, has been in the family's ownership for nearly a century. In 1918, Arnold Dolcini Sr. started a Jersey dairy at this ranch. Later, Red Hill became home to Angus beef cattle, which today is the prominent focus at the ranch.
Doug and Jim Dolcini, 5th generation ranchers, have been in the beef cattle business their entire lives. The brothers have raised Angus beef cattle for more than 50 years and have contributed to over 140 years of their family's ranching experience!
Yes, the Dolcinis are "the real deal" when it comes to cattle ranching, and they take much pride in their business. They are excited to be able to provide a healthier alternative for beef lovers everywhere. Doug and Jim Dolcini are proud to offer the consumer the highest quality, hand selected, local grass-fed beef.
SUSTAINABILTY
Doug and Jim's father, Arnold Jr., practiced pasture rotation in the 1950's before the idea of sustainability became popular. Chemical fertilizers were never used because they destroy the natural process the family believes in so strongly. The nutrient-rich soil and plentiful grasses are naturally enhanced with the use of local chicken manure. Today, the same practices are followed to preserve the ranch land and allow it to thrive.
THE CATTLE AND THE RANCH
The Dolcini Ranch's grass-fed beef is grown in Marin and Sonoma Counties. The cattle live a free-range lifestyle and graze on open pastures. The lush, green grasses of the valley combined with a perfect coastal climate, provides a natural and stress-free environment for livestock.
The meat is raised free from added hormones, growth stimulants, preservatives and artificial colorings. The cattle are never fed antibiotics, animal by-products or grain-based feeds. The meat is dry-aged for peak flavor and tenderness. Handled delicately, the meat is aged to perfection just like a fine wine.
